Employee Spotlight: Nancy Leyton

What does your current job entail?

As a Clinical Nurse Coach at SCM, I provide education and support to our members to empower them to take control of their health, utilizing an interviewing and coaching framework.

On a daily basis, I engage in close communication with my team, maintain charting in our database, conduct outreach to members via phone calls, facilitate resolutions for issues among providers, members, and insurance companies, analyze records and labs, and generate cost-saving reports.

What is it like working at SCM?

Working at Specialty Care Management has surpassed all my expectations. I feel fortunate to collaborate with an exceptional team and compassionate leaders who are consistently accessible. The environment cultivates trust and support, empowering me to operate at my fullest potential and encouraging continuous growth within the company.

How long have you worked at SCM?

I started with SCM in August of 2023. Although it’s only been six months, it feels like I’ve been here forever and have seamlessly integrated into this rapidly growing family. I eagerly anticipate many more years of professional growth.

#GenerousHeart #ResilientSpirit #DevotedMindset

What has been your favorite aspect of working at SCM?

Leading a new group as the lead nurse was immensely fulfilling. Balancing challenges with rewards, I focused on cultivating trust with members and assisting them in achieving their health objectives. I eagerly look forward to our upcoming project, which involves conducting onsite visits to connect directly with the members we coach.

What was your first job?

My first job was at the age of 15, working at a company that manufactured bolts. Despite its lack of glamour, I cherished the opportunity to earn my own money and gain valuable work experience.

Aside from necessities, what is one thing you could not go a day without?

A good cup of coffee, particularly Starbucks’ Guatemalan blend, is a daily indulgence I eagerly anticipate with breakfast. While not strictly a necessity, its absence is keenly felt on the rare occasions I go without it.

What is something people don't know about you?

Most people don’t know that I speak three languages. Ukrainian was my first language, followed by Spanish, and finally English. It’s always a fun surprise for others to discover this aspect of my background.
